"The Lottery"
The theme of tradition and not breaking tradition no matter how corrupt that is shown in the description of Tellson's Bank is also present in the short story "The Lottery." They are in a society where tradition requires one person to be sacrificed by stoning to ensure a good growing season. While this way of thinking is clearly corrupt, they continue on because it is tradition and they find honor in respecting traditions, no matter how awful they are.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Similar to Sydney Carton, Harry's uncle Sirius Black was at first seen as an awful person. People thought he was a criminal, but as the movie/book progressed, Harry begins to see that Sirius was not a bad person at all, he actually cared about Harry a lot. He was "resurrected" into a kind gentle person who is often gone to for advice.
